![]() Please make sure you are using the correct plug which should be NGK DPR8EA-9 or equivalent and tell me the plug color when you reply back. Report back with your findings and questions and I will try to give you the next step. if you are careful, you can reuse the old gaskets or just replace them once you have eliminated the issue. ![]() By adjusting the needle position, We can change the way the bike responds so as you can see, we may have to tear into the carb a few times. I suggest that this be increased 2-4 sizes over after the carb has been gone through and if the issue has not changed. According to this manual, You may have a slow jet of # 40 or 42. We dont want to make too many changes and working off of a good foundation is a must before you can begin to fix your issue. Please be aware if aftermarket jets are used, the values may be different and I will explain later. I dont know if you know the history of the bike or any previous modifications or adjustments.Reassemble and test for issue If you dont know, it may not be a bad idea to disassemble and clean the carb by removing /inspecting and recording the slow and main jets( magnification is needed and look for any special symbols). Please see the pilot screw adjustment on page 4-14 and see page 1-5 for the carb standard jet setting. I will also assume the carb is in good working order and the idle/air screw is adjusted to factory specs. Looking at page 4-10, This will give you the internal pics of the jets.
